Hole 16
This is the beginning of the final three finishing holes considered by many to be as good as any three finishing holes in golf. Again, players are confronted with the second of only two par 5s on the course. This monster par 5 requires two strong shots, leaving you on an elevated plateau about 130 yards from the green. A strong second can carry the hill. This will leave a blind approach to a small green that is sloped from back to front. A true three-shot par 5. When Canterbury opened in 1921, this hole played to par 6 at 662 yards long.
