
HARTFORD, Conn. -- The Connecticut PGA Section of The PGA of America commemorated its 75th anniversary last month as the experts in the game and business of golf in Connecticut and Western Massachusetts at a ceremony held at The Bond in Hartford. PGA President Brian Whitcomb was on hand, along with more than 120 golf professionals and friends, to congratulate the Connecticut PGA Section for its dedication and leadership.
The 75th Anniversary Chairman John Nowobilski, and Connecticut PGA Section President Ron Dellostrito delivered the opening remarks. Tributes were also given by Tom Hantke, Executive Director of the Connecticut PGA Section; Ron Drapeau, Chief Executive Officer of the Connecticut State Golf Association; John Sprague, Executive Director of the Massachusetts Golf Association; and Bruce Wilson, the President and Chief Executive Officer of The First Tee of Connecticut. Those in attendance were also treated to a highlight video of the Section's illustrious 75 year history.
The annual Walter Lowell PGA Tournament followed the celebration and was contested at the Hartford Golf Club.
